Lt Jason Adams Memorial Fund The official page for the Lt Jason Adams Memorial Fund. Jason was a firefighter shot and killed in the line of duty on 22 Jan 16 in North Little Rock, AR

This is the official page for the Lt Jason Adams Memorial Fund. Jason was shot and killed in the line of duty on 22 January 2016, while on a medical call with East Pulaski County Fire Department. Jason volunteered with EPCFD for 10 years and was a career firefighter with Sherwood Fire Department for 4 years. Jason had a fierce love for everything fire and a passion for training. It is the intent of the Lt Jason Adams Memorial Fund to continue Jason's passion through training and safety equipment purchase for Arkansas volunteer fire departments. We are in the early stages and still suffering from the shock and grief of Jason being taken from us so suddenly. All focus right now is on building the fund for future endeavors. This page is administrated by Jeannie De Meyere, with help from Heather Blake-Stovall for sticker sales. Donations may be made to the fund at any US Bank...simply inform the teller that you'd like to donate to the "Lt Jason Adams Memorial Fund." Also, donations to the fund or correspondence to the family may be mailed to us:

This weekend, Jason is being honored at the National EMS Memorial weekend. His name will be added to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

The timing of the memorial is especially touching because Sunday is Jason's birthday. He would have been turning 31 years old.

Today, a plea was entered in Pulaski County Circuit Court by the man who killed Lt. Jason Adams on 22 January 2016. The plea he entered was "guilty" to Manslaughter, a Class C felony, and a sentence of 8 years.

Of course, we all feel it should be more. To have Jason taken from us in such a sudden and tragic, senseless manner deserves a swift and harsh punishment, in most of our eyes.

That being said, our family is relieved to not have to suffer through the emotional trauma of a trial. This is a done deal. No chance of no punishment whatsoever due to a sympathetic jury, no chance of appeal or overturned sentences.

Finally, closure.

Thank you for all your support through these incredibly challenging times. We couldn't have done it without your support and prayers lifting us up and keeping hope alive in these past 15 months.

Trial has been set for April 11th and 12th at 0830. As always, these dates are not absolutely set in stone. We will know more as the date approaches and following the Omnibus hearing in March.

Thank you for your continued thoughts and words of support. This is definitely a trying time for the family as the anniversary approaches in a few weeks.

I was honored to be asked by FireRescue1.com to tell my story and how the loss of Jason has impacted me personally. It was a tough article to write but I found it to be surprisingly theraputic.

Thank you for your continued support of our family. Prayers are definitely needed and appreciated during these two difficult months.
