Acupuncture is the insertion of very thin needles (about the size of a cats whisker) into specific points on the body to stimulate peripheral mechanisms (skin, muscle, bone, and other tissues). There are 4 aspects to Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine that need to function well in order to be healthy. 1).Qi (Chee) or Oxygen, may help to optimize delivery to the tissues biological responses. 2). The obstruction or deficiency of a particular area of the body will eventually lead to pain, illness and an imbalance of biological electron responses. Stimulating Acupuncture points along the nerve pathways or vessels, generates electrical signals [action potentials] associated with a particular physiological system and internal organ. Signaling biochemical events in the human body adjusts homeostasis and restore health at a much more rapid pace [0.001-1.0] faster than with rest alone.

It was a shock, I remember it so clearly, the day Four years ago today, I had a heart attack.

At 53, acting like a duck on water; on the surface everything was calm but underneath those feet going 💯mile a minute. Scared as my incredible wife, who got me to the hospital faster than any ambulance could!

Her quick thinking saved my life. 🦸‍♀️ My life took a terrifying turn. The amazing team of doctors, nurses, and staff at Scripps raced to keep me alive. 💔

The days following were horrible. Fearful that each day after would be my last. The fear of not waking up each night after going to bed. That jarring, rapidly sitting up. “Am I still here!?”

Today, I’m just so thankful to still be here to tell the story.
