As parent coaches and therapists, we strive to embrace balanced and multiple perspectives. However, our growing concerns about social media’s effects on children, teens, and families compel us to take a stand.
While platforms like Facebook and Instagram might seem like obvious tools to reach parents, their values often conflict with Child Wise’s mission of promoting family wellness. Studies repeatedly link Instagram and similar platforms to depression, body image issues, and social anxiety, particularly in teens and young women. For parents, these platforms often offer oversimplified advice from influencers, leaving families feeling inadequate or distracted by generic strategies that fail to address their unique challenges.
At In Sight, we maintain a minimal presence on social media, posting only when it aligns with our mission. Like good parents, we stay flexible, adapt as needed, and prioritize balance in our approach to social media. More importantly, we focus on fostering meaningful community connections through talks, support groups, and educational programs.
We’re here to help you navigate the unbalanced digital world your children and teens face today—or any other parenting challenges. It’s tricky out there, but you don’t have to face it alone.
