The world is mourning the passing of Rev. Jesse Jackson at 84.
A central voice of the modern civil rights movement, he helped carry forward the vision of Martin Luther King Jr., dedicating his life to expanding freedom, fairness, and opportunity for those pushed to the margins.
From building the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition to organizing communities nationwide, he turned conviction into action empowering ordinary people to see their strength and demand their place in democracy. His historic presidential bids reshaped the political landscape and opened doors many once thought unreachable.
Minister, advocate, and bridge-builder, Rev. Jackson challenged institutions to be more just and inspired generations to speak with courage and purpose.
We honor a life spent in service to others. His influence lives on wherever people stand up for dignity, cast a vote with hope, and refuse to believe their voice is too small to matter.
