Rachel began her journey in the healing arts over 25 years ago when she received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Kinesiology from the University of WI-Madison. She worked as a personal trainer focusing on strengthening the core of the body and teaching healthy lifestyles. She also created personal injury rehabilitation programs, pre-natal and postpartum exercise programs, as well as wellness and weight loss programs. She moved to Oregon in the fall of 1994 to continue her studies at the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, and received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine in 2001. She learned about healing all aspects of the body, mind and spirit. Rachel focused her studies on natural midwifery, mind-body medicine, herbal medicine, nutrition and lifestyle management. She continues to counsel clients as an herbalist and wellness advocate. It was at this same time that she feel in love with massage. She attended the Oregon School of Massage, and became a licensed massage therapist in 1996. She has been practicing therapeutic bodywork for the last 20 years, specializing in CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release, Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage, Kinesiotaping, Massage Cupping, Pre-natal Massage, Plant Spirit Medicine and Aromatherapy Massage. She has been a participant in the birthing world for the last 20 years. First as a mother, then as a midwife assistant, a massage therapist/craniosacral therapist, and now as a doula. She has consciously birthed 3 beautiful children at home, her last two unassisted. Rachel feels her approach to healing is a culmination of all her education and life experiences. She has worked with individuals of all ages, and with numerous conditions. Rachel feels strongly called to assist in the healing of Mother Earth by assisting souls to consciously be born and live in this world in a loving, peaceful and gently way, to teach the value of honoring the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies, and to assist those who are willing to venture on the path within themselves to the deepest healing possible.
