2.2.26. FEBRUARY FAMILY OF THE MONTH
Tucker was diagnosed with autism at 2.5 years old. He is Level 2 and nonverbal, and while he faces significant challenges, he brings so much joy and light into our lives.
He attends school and participates in local inclusive sports, where he continues to grow and learn every day. These programs allow him to be included, have fun, and shine.
Tucker loves swinging, wagon rides, bubbles, popcorn, chocolate milk, and playing with his beloved Hot Wheels cars. He also adores watching Frozen—especially when “Let It Go” plays—and it never fails to make him smile.
While Tucker has many favorite things, our journey with autism also includes some of the scarier realities.
Tucker is a “track star” when it comes to elopement—quick and silent.
We’ve had to educate our local police and fire departments to ensure they’re prepared in case he ever goes missing. We’ve taken every precaution we can, but the fear never quite leaves.
Autism has changed our family in countless ways—some difficult, many beautiful.
Tucker has taught us how to advocate, how to slow down, and how to celebrate every milestone, no matter how small.
We are proud to share our story in hopes it helps others feel seen, supported, and less alone.
Thank you for all that Autism Everyone does for families like ours!
