My first true investment was—and continues to be my kids. 💛
Watching this video of Dana reading when he was little reminds me how far we’ve come. We didn’t have much, but we had love, faith, and each other. If we could survive with nothing, then we thank God in advance for everything that’s still to come. 🙏🏽✨

You open your child’s progress report and see 75%, but what does that really mean?

Every IEP progress report should clearly state the specific skill or goal being measured and how progress was determined. A percentage by itself doesn’t tell the full story of your child’s growth.

Here’s what to check for:
The exact goal or skill your child is working on.
The method of measurement is observation, data collection, or work samples?
Whether progress reflects your child’s typical performance, not just one moment in time.
Notes that connect progress to support strategies, not just outcomes.

If something isn’t clear or seems inconsistent, you have the right to ask for clarification.

🌅 Monday Daily Prayer November 10 🌊

Lord, thank You for the reminder that our children are full of surprises and sometimes, the only thing standing between them and their greatness is our fear. 🙏🏾

Today’s prayer comes with a memory that still makes me smile. For Dana’s 16th birthday, we went to Jamaica. I watched in disbelief as he and his cruise friends jumped off an inflated dock in the middle of the ocean. The gag is… I didn’t even know Dana could swim! 😂

But that moment taught me something powerful sometimes our kids know more than we think. When we step back and give them space, we get to witness all the hidden talents and quiet confidence they’ve been developing in their own time.

So today, I’m praying for every parent learning to trust the process to release control, to breathe, and to believe that God is already equipping our children with everything they need to soar. 🌤️

No one tells you during all the autism awareness talks that puberty comes with its own storms. The highs, the lows, the hormones they hit just as hard. While my oldest was in a CBAT placement for aggressive behavior, Dana and I took our first bus ride together to NYC. We needed to breathe again.

Walking through the Brooklyn Zoo and being greeted by the seals reminded us that change of scenery can mean change of energy. That day wasn’t just a trip — it was healing in motion. 💙🦭

From sleeping in my car while attending UMass Boston to opening a private practice in Everett, MA. I continue to defy every odd stacked against me.

Raised by a village of hustlers, addicts, and legends, I learned how to create my own light in the darkest moments. That light carried me from Lead Clinical Responder to Senior Training and Protocol Manager at the Boston Public Health Commission, and eventually Director of a Recovery Program.

As a single mom, I thrive to give my kids a better chance than I had to build something they can be proud of, and one day be gainfully employed by their mom.

I’m not in this to play. I treat every client the way I would want my own family to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. Because people remember how you treat them, and that’s the biggest FLEX.

🔥 Watching my clients succeed is the real reward.
I’m not bragging — I’m stating facts.
I’ve earned the right to be deemed an expert in my field.
The phoenix that rose from the ashes.
