Today I gave myself permission to listen deeper to what I needed.

I thought I was doing a really good job at giving myself time and space but after spending a long time with a lot of people on vacation I realized how depleted I was.

I was making breakfast and noticed it was fairly quiet and saw that my daughter had gone down to her room and shut the door and was playing joyfully. So simple. She just did something that felt good for her and honored that.

I am just about to enter the next phase of my cycle and notice how little capacity I have and that almost every word from another can feel like a weight on my chest.

So after my partner and I finished making breakfast, I brought a plate for my daughter to her room and I brought my plate down into my porch (my sanctuary) and felt the fullness of what it means to honor what my body is asking for, to give myself permission to be alone. It’s so simple and yet so profound. I felt deeper love for myself and at the same time appreciation for everyone else in my life so much more instead of gritting my teeth, trying not to be annoyed or angry because sometimes other peoples energy can feel like too much. Not because they are bad or anything is wrong but simply because my body is shedding and it needs space, quiet and comfort.

Please give yourself permission to listen ❤️

“To look at another woman with inspiration rather than the green eyes of envy.

To love another woman as a sister, rather than seeing them as the enemy.

To remember we each hold a love so vast and powerful it could heal the world,

To realize within our femininity is a strength that can move mountains,
That can either heal or crush another’s soul,

To take our responsibility as the wardens of Mother Earth as a privilege, rather than a burden.

To embrace and engage with the unspoken within and without.

To heal our wounds consciously for ourselves, our ancestors, future generations and one another.

To allow the feelings to flow through, to be acknowledged and let go.

To observe,

To speak from the heart,

To accept our vulnerabilities as strength,

Sister, I see you as you speak your truth,
Sister, I honor you as you claim who you are,
Sister, I hold you as you rise to who you are destined to be.”
