In order to support our efforts in getting public measure LR passed, we are asking community members that want to help support the building of a new middle school to contribute to the campaign.

We have a goal of finding 70 people to contribute $100 each, but any amount you are willing and able to contribute will be greatly appreciated!

Contributions can be dropped off at or mailed to:

Attn: Friends of Fairfield’s Future
Iowa State Bank
55 S 4th St
Fairfield, IA 52556

These contributions will go towards the purchase of “Vote YES” yard signs and informational mailers to be sent out before the election. If at the end of the election there are any funds remaining in the account, those funds will be utilized to purchase school supplies for buildings in the Fairfield Community School District.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!

Please take time to understand the entirety of the new middle school bond proposal before Nov. 4th…it’s vital to our community that we get as many people as possible to support this initiative!

Our students and staff face numerous facility challenges at Fairfield Middle School, which is why we are asking voters to consider approving a $38.51 million bond referendum on Tuesday, November 5.

Some of the major issues at FMS include:

➡️ The building lacks a secure entrance for student safety and security, and it would be difficult to add one without significant reconfiguration.

➡️ The building was constructed too low on the site, leading to perpetual water infiltration due to poor drainage. This problem cannot be effectively remedied.

➡️ The building's envelope lacks secondary drainage and flashing behind the exterior cladding, meaning some walls leak water into the building.

➡️ Windows in the original middle school are single-pane glass and have significant water and air leaks.

➡️ Portions of the school do not comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and would be costly to modify.

➡️Classroom sizes are approximately 150 square feet below modern educational standards.

With an approved bond referendum, FCSD can construct a new middle school and provide a better education for future generations of Trojans. Learn more at https://www.fairfieldcsdbond.org.

Here is a brief overview of some of the updates to the bond initiative for the 2025 vote…please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like more information!

09/26/2025

On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, FCSD residents will consider approving a $39.5 million bond referendum. An approved bond would fund the construction of a new middle school for grades 5-8. 🗳️

If the bond issue receives voter support of at least 60% of voters, the maximum tax impact would be $2.70 per $1,000 of taxable property value. For a $200,000 home, this would amount to approximately $243.04 per year (or $20.24 per month).
