Decided it was time to build a Root Cellar into our bank behind the retaining wall. Has been a interesting project. First removing all the 90lb keystone blocks, to digging out the foundation in the bank and dealing with spring water. To completing my first ever attempt at a dry pour pad for the floor. Even laid several courses of block myself, which I have never done before. Last week we laid up all the blocks for the wall, then this weekend we pour the concrete for the ceiling. Not quite finished but coming along nicely.

Did you know that dandelions have a ton of health benefits? It's good for your liver, kidney, urinary tract, and gut health. It even helps your immune system, stabilizes blood sugar, and reduces bloating and inflammation. Today we made dandelion medicine, tea, and honey. Tomorrow we will make jam.

This year, we are donating all proceeds of our Thanksgiving Pie Sale to an organization that Ashley worked with in Israel. This organization annually supports Holocaust survivors in their community. They're asking for financial support as they give emergency aide to those impacted by the war.

We have been selling Thanksgiving pies since 2014. Our Thanksgiving pie sales started out of supporting our daughter, Ashley's mission trips. In the past, we have sent her to Israel, Southeast Asia, and Guam! Our heart is to carry on this tradition. Anytime we sell our pies, it is extra special because 100% of our pie sales always goes to supporting local and global missions!
