PTSD vs CPTSD: Understanding the Difference Matters 🧠💔
Trauma doesn’t impact everyone in the same way — and neither does the journey to healing.
👉 PTSD often stems from a single traumatic event like an accident, assault, or natural disaster. It can leave deep imprints in the nervous system — flashbacks, nightmares, and a sense of constant vigilance.
👉 CPTSD (Complex PTSD) develops after long-term or repeated trauma, often tied to childhood abuse, neglect, or toxic environments. Alongside PTSD symptoms, it often brings emotional overwhelm, shame, and difficulty trusting or building healthy relationships.
Why this matters:
Both experiences are real, valid, and deserving of care. Understanding what you’ve been carrying is not about labeling yourself — it’s about finding language for your pain so you can finally release it.
