April is Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Awareness Month.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a chronic condition that affects the large intestine. It is characterized by a group of symptoms that include abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, and irregular bowel movements.

IBS brings abdominal pain, bloating and unpredictable bowel changes that can disrupt life. While it can feel overwhelming; IBS can be managed. Practical steps like diet changes, stress reduction, and tailored treatments addressing the gut-brain connection can meaningfully reduce symptoms for many patients.

If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms of IBS, it’s important to consult with your primary care provider.
