Our members can opt to contract with insurance companies through us, giving doctors and therapists an advocate in the contract process. We have been reaching out to Blue Cross to begin the contract process for 2021, but Blue Cross has chosen to not even respond to our request.

This isn’t a matter of our doctors not wanting to contract with Blue Cross. We’re here. We’re ready. We want to make sure patients have access, particularly during this time. If Blue Cross tells you that your doctor doesn’t want to contract…well, that’s not exactly true.

Call Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico today. Demand they work with us to get your healthcare providers in network.

San Juan IPA would like send out a reminder to patients and providers alike to stay informed about cost sharing responsibilities for medical services related to COVID-19. We have recently discovered that patients are not responsible for cost sharing (Patient responsibility such as Copay, Deductible and Coinsurance) for certain items and services related to COVID-19 testing and treatment. See the link below for federal guidelines on cost-sharing. FFCRA (Families First Coronavirus Response Act) and CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act), enacted on March 19, 2020.

Each state’s guidelines may be different when it comes to patient cost-sharing (patient responsibilities). Did you know? If you make any practice, degree or provider changes (i.e. business name/dba name change, address change, new providers joining/terminating, adding practice locations, name changes, etc.) you must notify the San Juan IPA in writing at least 45 days prior to the event change so that we may notify each of your contracted health plans. By not notifying the San Juan IPA in a timely manner, your office will likely experience claims denials. Please call Heather DeLaBarcena at 505-564-7980 or via email heatherd@sanjuanipa.com to report your changes.
