Athena Health Care Systems has been Southern New England’s leader in continuum of care services since 1984. Headquartered in Farmington, Connecticut, Athena provides skilled nursing care and short-term, post-hospital care and rehabilitation in our health care centers, as well as hospice care and private duty program services right in the comfort of your own home. Athena is a recognized leader in senior care in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, specializing in orthopedic and pulmonary rehabilitation and medically complex care. Most centers also offer an array of services and programs to varying populations, including Alzheimer’s and memory care, as well as speech, occupational, and physical therapy specialists. Not only do residents receive the highest quality of care, but the centers also keep residents social and engaged through activity programs and offer delicious and healthy meals for residents to enjoy. Thousands of people are cared for by our team across dozens of towns and cities in Southern New England each year. Athena operates 28 skilled nursing facilities as well as four hospice agencies and a private duty program.

In honor of National Social Workers Month, we had a luncheon celebrating our Massachusetts social workers.

Their work touches so many lives, offering comfort, support, and guidance when it matters most. Today was about recognizing them and encouraging them to take a moment for themselves, too. As a small token of appreciation, we gave each social worker their own relaxation device.

We are so thankful for this group and to Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation & Health Care Center for hosting this wonderful luncheon!

Honored to welcome Senator Xiarhos to Cape Heritage as we took a moment to recognize the veterans who call our community home.

As the National Anthem played, many of our residents stood and saluted, including Donald, a proud Army veteran. Donald comes from a family rooted in service, with his father serving in the Korean War, his brother in Vietnam, and his niece currently serving overseas.

During the visit, Donald was also presented with a commemorative pin in recognition of his service.

With the support of the American Legion Honor Guard, it was a powerful reminder that their service, and the sacrifices of their families, will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸
