Oinking Acres Farm Rescue & Sanctuary is a haven where rescued pigs find expert care, a loving home, and a second chance at life. This short documentary pulls back the curtain on the daily dedication it takes to keep a sanctuary thriving, highlighting not just the work behind the scenes but the unique journeys of the pigs themselves.

I’m Emily Pallikan, the director and producer of this short film. Over the summer, I reached out to Olivia, the owner of Oinking Acres, with an idea that’s been on my heart for a long time: creating mini documentaries that spotlight animal sanctuaries, the critters that call these sanctuaries home, and the people who pour their lives into them. I love telling stories through cinema, and I care deeply about animal welfare—so this project is where those two passions meet.

Oinking Acres is more than a sanctuary. It’s daily, hands‑on dedication from staff and volunteers who show up for every feeding, every medical check, every muddy rescue, and every quiet moment of care. I’m honored Olivia welcomed me in and trusted me to help tell their story.

I’m grateful you’re here to watch and support. I hope this short film makes you smile, see how special these animals truly are, and ultimately feel inspired by the compassion happening here every day.
