We use “want” to express preferences, make choices, and share desires.

💬 Model it during everyday routines:

“I want more juice.”

“Do you want to play?”

“You want bubbles!”

Encourage your AAC user to use WANT to tell others what they’d like - it’s a powerful word for making choices and feeling heard.

Play "Red Light, Green Light" to model "Go!" and "Stop!"

“Let’s stop and listen.”

Encourage your AAC user to use STOP to express control, make requests, or communicate when they need a break.
