Cortney Luzier, born on November 28, 1979, in Morgantown, WV, passed away on December 25, 2025. Cortney was a 1999 graduate of Braxton County High School. After high school, Cortney worked in various customer service jobs over his career, lastly serving as a mail clerk in Gilmer County. He loved his job in the Postal Service and the purpose it gave him.
Throughout his life, Cortney was deeply devoted to the people he loved and the community he cherished. Cortney's devotion to his mother was a defining aspect of his character, reflecting a deep sense of loyalty and care. As a loving brother to his twin Chris, he shared a bond that was both warm and enduring, characterized by mutual respect and affection. His commitment to family extended to his role as a loving friend, where his kindness and empathy touched the lives of many.
Active in the church community, Cortney found joy and purpose in his faith. His participation there was marked by a genuine spirit of service and a desire to contribute positively to the lives of those around him. Cortney's involvement in church activities not only exemplified his dedication but also his desire to foster a sense of belonging and unity among his peers.
Cortney was preceded in death by his father Eric Lynn Luzier. He is survived by his mother Percie "Jane" Hickman, his twin brother Christopher Luzier, sister-in-law Jessica Luzier and beloved nephews Quinn and Beau Luzier. He is also survived by loving cousins, aunts, uncles, and numerous brothers and sisters in Christ.
Cortney Luzier will be remembered most for his kindness, love of family and friends, and his playful spirit.
Service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, December 29, 2025, at Stockert Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV. Visitation will be two hours before the service from 11-1 p.m. Pastor Tim Ramsey will officiate the service.
