🚨🚨Nurse Aide Renewal CE (Continuing Education) Requirements 🚨🚨

Nurse Aides,

CNA Continuing Education (CE) Reminder

In accordance with the Michigan Administrative Rules for Nurse Aides R 400.315, certified nurse aides (CNA) are required to complete 12 hours annually of continuing education (CE) as a condition of renewal.

CE requirements will be part of the renewal application process effective March 23, 2026. Any CNA who is renewing their certificate because their current expiration date is on or after March 23, 2026, must have completed the 12 hours of required annual CE prior to their expiration date. For example, a CNA whose certificate expires on March 23, 2026, must have completed the required 24 hours of CE (at a rate of 12 hours per year) within the 2 years preceding that date. Please note that:

CNAs ARE NOT required to submit proof of CE at the time of renewal, but must maintain documentary proof of CE for 2 renewal cycles (4 years prior to the most recent renewal) so that it can be provided to the Bureau of Community and Health Systems (BCHS) UPON REQUEST during any audits or investigations.

Tamika Lang, MSN-Ed, RN, CEO, is a nurse educator, entrepreneur, and founder of Soaring CNA Training Center in Flint, Michigan. A devoted mother of two boys, Tamika’s journey into healthcare was built through faith, discipline, and determination.
After graduating high school in 2010, she began college while working two jobs. Facing early academic challenges, she pivoted and committed herself to nursing through a hands-on, career-focused pathway. While pregnant, she commuted four hours daily to complete her nursing program returning to class just days after giving birth, determined to finish what she started.
She continued advancing her education while raising her children and working in bedside nursing, ultimately earning her Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2025.
In August 2021, she founded Soaring CNA Training Center with a clear mission: to create accessible healthcare career pathways for her community. What began as a vision has grown into a thriving training institution serving aspiring healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines.
As CEO, Tamika has expanded her impact through education and entrepreneurship, building platforms that empower individuals to create stability, growth, and generational opportunity.
