A little Throwback Thursday for you.

Did you know we used to have our very own gardening program? You can still spot the barn on our property but years ago, we were field-growing our own perennials and selling them to the community!

It was such a special part of our story, and we’d love to bring back programs like this to give our clients even more variety, hands-on experiences, and opportunities to grow.

Barriers to employment for people with disabilities are not just obstacles—they’re opportunities for change. Many individuals with disabilities face challenges that can prevent them from accessing job opportunities, such as physical barriers in the workplace, lack of proper accommodations, and limited awareness from employers.
These barriers can be broken down with the right support, understanding, and commitment to inclusion. It’s time for employers to recognize the value that individuals with disabilities bring to the workforce and make necessary adjustments to create a more accessible and equitable environment. By embracing diversity and fostering an inclusive culture, we can ensure that everyone has a fair chance to succeed, regardless of their abilities.

Hear directly from one of our clients about how our program has supported his journey. Stories like Chip’s inspire us every day, and remind us what’s possible with the right support.

Did you know our program also supports physical activity?

Last year, we partnered with the Crim Fitness Foundation and Bauman's Running and Walking Shop to help our clients reach their physical fitness goals! Together, we walked the Crim 5K and the Halloween Hustle, building strength, confidence, and community every step of the way.

It may be cold now, but we’re gearing up for even more races this year! If you’re looking for ways to support our clients on their journey, contact us today at snewman@viprogram.org!
