Registration is now open for the 3rd Annual Women in Power Summit, which will be hosted at the Insight Institute of Neurosurgery & Neuroscience (IINN) located at 4800 South Saginaw Street in Flint, MI 48502 on Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10, 2017. The event is sponsored by Pick A Place and Start (PAPAS), a Community Development Corporation dedicated to revitalizing the Flint and Genesee County through variety or programming and services. Our slogan is "I am the WIP" and this year’s theme is “From WIP to Lasso: Capturing Your Success!”
The overall goal of the WIP Summit is to:
• Empower women of all ages mind, body, and soul
• Connect women to women in power positions and placements in society
• Promote awareness to available resources specifically for women
• Equip women with strategies to progress in their goals, dreams and professional careers
• Provide a learning experience that will allow women to network, share and grow personally, spiritually and professionally
The Summit is a premiere event for women and young girls, attracting nearly 300 attendees who come together for 2-days of networking, professional development, and personal growth opportunities. Exclusive to the Women in Power Summit is the Entrepreneur-Vendor Meet & Greet which offer attendees the chance to have one-on-one conversations with local businesswomen and community leaders, and private Expert Exchange sessions with industry veterans. WIP Summit attendees also have the opportunity to participate in the popular Career Pavilion, featuring resume reviews by human resource experts, Coaches Corner (one-on-one “speed coaching” sessions with local career coaches and executives. The Summit will also include a Health & Wellness Pavilion showcases speakers and companies dedicated to improving women’s health, while an onsite Exhibit Hall boasts numerous local businesses, organizations, and corporations with products or services that appeal to women.
“We look forward to bringing together the many women and young girls for a substantive discussion of real-world solutions to key issues facing today’s women. It is time for women in young girls to unlock their inner shero and lasso in their success in business, health, personal and professional areas of their lives. This Summit reminds women and girls that they are the WIP and empowers them to be their best selves,” said Summit Founder and Host, Tonya Bailey. In years prior, attendees have benefited from the talent and wisdom of such trailblazers as General Motors Executives, Coco-Cola Public Relations Senior Leadership, Health Professional Experts and celebrated poets, recording artists, authors, educators, and historians. This year’s 2017 speakers will be announced in the coming weeks. Who attends the WIP Summit: The Summit attracts 300 women and teenage girls from ages 13 and up and is open to anyone desiring to capture success. Ths Summit is different from as it is about you.
