Huge shoutout to this future School Resource Officer (SRO) who joined us yesterday to sharpen his lifesaving skills! Before he starts his new role at a local private school, he spent his Saturday afternoon updating his skills in adult, child, and infant CPR/AED and choking relief. (and Narcan use -- important knowledge in our area schools!)

Honestly folks, Sun afternoons don't get more powerful than this. 🕊️

Yesterday, I had the honor of giving a private CPR lesson to a sweet dad who's lived every parent's worst nightmare & greatest miracle: his child drowned in the backyard swimming pool. After his baby was revived by a passing local doctor—who deserves every lifesaving award possible—this dad spent his Sunday with me mastering first aid to ensure he's always ready to protect his family.

The kiddo is amazingly perfectly healthy today!! And this father is turning a terrifying survival story into a mission to advocate, reminding other parents to always stay vigilant.

Watching him turn a "what if" into action is exactly why I started Deep in the Heart. His story deeply touched me. And to that local hero doctor: Thank You. ❤️ You never know when you’ll be the one to give someone a second chance. 🤟

What an incredible Saturday in Deep Ellum for Art of the Machine IV! 🎨🔧

Huge thanks to Gallery, , and for the invite to be part of such a meaningful event. Seeing those new 3D-printed and welded Narcan vending machines in person was an incredible total game-changer for community access and safety. 🦾✨

An absolute honor to spend the day engaging with the community and distributing life-saving Narcan. Every box handed out is a potential life saved and a second chance given. 🫂💊

Choking: The New "5-and-5" Standard 👊💨
Don't just stand there—if an adult is choking and cannot breathe, cough, or speak, follow these steps:

5 Back Blows: Use the heel of your hand to deliver firm blows between the shoulder blades. 🖐️💥

5 Abdominal Thrusts: Stand behind them and pull inward and upward just above the navel. 🔃

Infants: Use a combination of 5 back blows and 5 chest thrusts while supporting their head and neck. 👶✋

Repeat: Continue the cycle of 5-and-5 until the object is forced out or the person becomes unresponsive. 🔄

Stay Calm: Fear is the biggest hurdle to saving a life—proper training gives you the confidence to lead. 🛡️🚑
