Chicken and Dumplings

1 whole chicken (3 lbs.)
1 can of Pillsbury Grands! Butter Taste biscuits (16 oz.)
1 cup self-rising flour
4 quarts water
4 bay leaves
4 tbsp garlic powder
4 tbsp onion powder
4 tbsp salt
1 tbsp black pepper

Add the chicken, water, and all seasonings in a 7-quart stovetop pot. Boil the chicken uncovered until thoroughly cooked (meat should pull away from leg bones). Turn off heat when done boiling. Remove chicken and separate meat to use. Remove bay leaves. Put meat back in pot (heat is still off). Spread ½ cup flour on a large cutting board. Add all the biscuits on top of the flour and use a rolling pin to flatten until biscuits are ¼ in. thick. Spread remaining ½ cup flour on biscuits using rolling pin. Use a pizza cutter and slice the biscuits into rectangles the size of an average iWatch face. Return seasoned water and chicken to a boil. Using protective gloves or an extra-long spoon, drop about 4 biscuit rectangles (dumplings) in the pot, stir once, and repeat until all dumplings have been added. Turn off heat and stir for 30 seconds. Place lid on pot and let sit for 10 minutes. I usually serve this dish with mustard and turnip greens on the side.
