✨Birth Story: The Grace Family✨
Some families you meet and instantly feel the Lord weaving the connection together — and that’s exactly how it was with Torey and Rod. Our story didn’t begin in a hospital or even in a prenatal visit; it started in a Facebook group.
Torey was searching for a home for my sweet fur baby, Ziggy, and when I responded, she quickly realized she and her husband already followed my page. From there, a simple conversation turned into a perfect exchange of services for Ziggy — and the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
As an Austin native, learning that Torey and Rod once lived in the tiny town of Pflugerville felt like a God wink. Nothing about our paths crossing felt coincidental. The Lord’s hand was clearly guiding each step.
Torey spent a couple of weeks navigating the ups and downs of prodromal labor — something that can test even the strongest mamas. It’s exhausting, emotionally and physically, and it often feels like you’re living in the in-between. Still, she carried herself with such patience and faith.
At 3:15 a.m., Rod called to let me know her contractions were steady at about five minutes apart, and Torey felt it was time to head to the hospital. We arrived around 5:30 a.m., completed registration while her contractions intensified to every 3–4 minutes, and skipped triage altogether, going straight to L&D.
Once settled, the nurses checked her and confirmed she was already at 9 cm. Torey entered this space with a plan — and she stuck to it. She leaned into her homeopathics, her breath, her birth comb, her faith, her doula support, and the grounding presence of her husband, Rod.
Together, they moved through each surge as a team, fully aligned with the birth they envisioned.
Torey labored with such (grace) and strength. When she entered transition, she stepped fully into her power, roaring her baby into the world like only a determined, Spirit-led mama can.
Baby Grace made entrance at 7:27 a.m. on 11/21/25 in a beautiful, precipitous birth — hand next to that squishy face in a sweet little nuchal hand presentation. Mom and baby were both healthy, strong, and absolutely glowing.
Congratulations to the Grace family on the birth of their precious new bundle of joy. It was an honor to witness this miracle and to feel the presence of the Lord so clearly in that room. Baby Grace, you are so loved already. ✨🤍
