🌀Breathing 🫁Exercises To Take You Higher🤩
When was the last time you thought about how and when you breathe❓ Biologically speaking, breathing is a rhythmic, involuntary process regulated by the body. Most of us do it about 12 to 20 times per minute. It’s kind of a requirement on the standard “staying alive” checklist✅
Do you want to learn a few breathwork practices that you can start working with right now❓Well you're in luck... below are 3 FAVORITE🔻
🌀Yogic Deep Belly Breath
Where you breathe from matters: Your belly and not your chest.
Deep Belly Inhale & Exhale Breathing, through the nose, expands the diaphragm, lungs, bronchial & arteries allowing more oxygen to get into internal organs, brain & heart cells & glands:*nasal inhale/exhale creates nitrate oxide a compound that relaxes blood vessels & increases blood flow*regenerates cells & organs*increases lung capacity*maintains blood PH levels*reduces inflammation
This deep belly, nasal breath is the breathing practice for all yoga & exercise fitness classes I teach at Foley Senior Center 🌀BOX BREATHING
Box breathing is designed to give a rhythmic, even pattern to breathing. When everything feels overwhelming, box breathing can act as an anchor. Focusing on your breath and rhythm gives your brain a break from the chaos, reducing feelings of anxiety & stress, lowering heart rate, blood pressure, enhancing mental focus, concentration & emotional wellbeing
🌀LION’S 🦁BREATH
Forget your inhibitions ~You’re going to be making a silly face and an audible breath, all to perfect your own mindful roar 🦁that will release tension from head to toe
How To: It’s simple & so much fun😂: take a big breath in through your nose and when you’re ready to exhale, stick your tongue out and sigh it all out your mouth with a “ha” sound.
One Lion’s Breath may be enough, but if not, repeat until you feel as energized and empowered as possible.
