As the Premier Sports Medicine Sponsor for Hill City FC, our team had the fun opportunity to help name the club’s brand-new mascot, a friendly but fierce river otter who will be bringing the energy to matches and community events all season long!

Over the past two weeks, our staff submitted and voted on dozens of creative ideas, and we’ve officially narrowed the list down to four finalists.

Now it’s time for the community to decide.

Voting is open now through March 31, and the winning name will be revealed at a special mascot debut event later this spring.

We’re proud to partner with Hill City FC to support local athletes and bring exciting new energy to soccer in Lynchburg, and we love that our team got to help kick off the story of this mascot. 🦵 🦦

On Saturday, our providers and leaders gathered for our Annual Meeting ✏️ A time to sharpen our pencils, reflect on our progress, and focus on what’s ahead.

CVFP Board President, Dr. Mark Kleiner opened the day by setting the agenda and grounding us in both purpose and accountability as we continue to grow and evolve.

We were honored to hear from Dr. Mark Townsend, President of the Medical Society of Virginia, our own Board of Medicine member Dr. Trudy Shahady, and Dr. Garret Westlake, who brought the energy as we explored practical strategies for leading transformative change.

As healthcare continues to shift, gatherings like this allow us to pause and acknowledge how far we’ve come, while equipping ourselves with actionable tools to lead boldly into the future.🧰
