With Double M, you receive pictures and video messages about the massage every step of the way. Especially on those days when you can’t be there to witness the massage in person this is truly helpful to understanding, and we can all learn more.

For those who may be new to us, or even curious still but haven’t jumped on board - an intro…

A little about us:

I'm Mandi, and my journey into the massage therapy field was inspired by a special horse named Mouse (PeptoMouse), whose spirit and life continue to motivate everything I do. She is the inspiration for Double M through and through!

Mouse was more than just a horse - she was my partner and friend. As a broodmare and performance horse, she had her fair share of challenges which required constant massage therapy sessions. It's through our battles together that I saw first-hand the incredible impact that massage and other therapies had on her comfort, performance, and overall quality of life.

Mouse passed away in the winter of 2024, but her legacy lives on in my work. Her resilience and strength taught me the importance of taking care of our equine companions, especially when it comes to their well-being.

As for me, I've long since had a passion for horses. That passion continues through my family, and most especially my daughter. By choosing Double M you're supporting the life and legacy of Mouse, and supporting our life's passion for creating comfort for horses and humans alike.

🥶 Virginia called… it wants its muscles back. 🥶

Cold temps =
🐴 tighter muscles
🐴 reduced circulation
🐴 less flexibility
🐴 longer warm-ups (and grumpier attitudes)

When muscles get cold, they contract and don’t want to let go. That’s when your horse can feel short-strided, resistant, or just off. Massage helps counteract the cold by:

That moment when your horse feels amazing one day… and the next ride feels like you’re sitting on a wooden sawhorse. 🫠

Spoiler alert: it’s usually not you (ok, maybe) — and it’s not “just attitude.” Muscles tighten, bodies compensate, and horses adapt until they can’t.

Working out those kinks can take time so it’s important to stay on a regular therapeutic schedule until they’re on a maintenance routine.

You’ll spend hundreds on vets, farriers, and that show bill but don’t have to to loosen up your companion. We have options.

The look of relief with hands of gold 💛🤙

Gunner showed signs of soreness when trying to get his headset positioned correctly, and showed classic pain behaviors associated with muscle soreness (tail swishing, moving away and guarded behaviors, drawing up his core when brushing or with a light touch).

Ignoring these symptoms impedes any rider’s ability to ride with purpose. Let’s get to work 💪

Horses don’t wake up and decide to be “difficult.” They wake up stiff, sore, or unbalanced—and then do the best they can with it.

Subtle signs like tail swishing, resistance, uneven movement, or attitude changes are often the body whispering before it starts yelling. Learning to listen early makes a big difference in your horse’s comfort and performance.

PS: Bodywork isn’t just for “problem horses.” It’s for horses you want to keep feeling good.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. We are so thankful for each and every one of you!

As we celebrate with family and friends, we also want to celebrate and give thanks to the horses in our lives and all our clients who believed and trusted in our work this year - you are all AMAZING.

We will start: PeptoMouse. She is our inspiration and we carry her with us always. She loved massage and it helped her recover from workouts and lymes flares.
