Come taste some inner peace along with some delicious appetizers!

Friday, April 10, 2026 | 5:30-7:30pm
A thought-provoking alternative Friday night out!

Appetizer Buffet followed by Meditation & Dharma Talk with Resident Teacher Kerrin Perniciaro

5:30-6:15pm Appetizer Bar & Social
6:15-7pm Meditation & Dharma Talk

Join us for a different kind of Friday Night Happy Hour where we'll gather together in community to unwind from the work week, mingle with new friends, eat some delicious finger foods, and kick off our weekend with a relaxing meditation to put us in a positive frame of mind.

Our topic for this Food for Thought gathering is how to find peace in a fast-paced world. With so many gadgets, devices, passwords, notifications and responsibilities, it feels like we can never slow down and relax. This fast-paced way of life affects our thinking and our mind can sometimes feel erratic, stressed, and in a constant state of anxiety. How do we typically react? Do we try to ramp up the pace to keep up and eventually crash and burn?

In this Dharma talk and guided meditation we'll look at some alternative ways we might respond in order to maintain a sense of inner peace and well-being.

Everyone welcome. Bring a friend! There will be plenty of time for discussion.

Pre-registration is appreciated so the organizers know how much food to prepare. Register at https://meditateinfortcollins.org/food-for-thought/

This is a vegetarian alcohol-free evening.

Heruka KMC Teachers Kelsang Evam and Kerrin Perniciaro had a lovely meeting and made a meaningful connection this morning with Dr. Michael Kimball, Professor of Anthropology at the University of Northern Colorado. Michael and his family are all registered for our Beyond Fear public talk with Gen Kelsang Gomlam at Bas Bleu Theater in Fort Collins on May 15. Thank you, Michael! It was inspiring to hear about the consciousness and culture class Michael is teaching at UNC, as well as his work at Larimer County Jail with male inmates and his role as the founding member of the UNC Mindfulness Teachers Collaborative. We look forward to seeing him again at our May 15 public talk! Great to have 40 sophomores from Resurrection Christian School visit our center today as part of their “world religion discovery field trip.” They had so many thoughtful questions for our Resident Teacher about past and future lives and karma. Heruka KMC is always open to hosting students from area schools, as well as other groups and organizations. Contact us to set up a visit by emailing info@meditateinfortcollins.org

Is anger ever justified? Are you really in control when you are angry? Buddha taught that of all the delusions, anger is the most harmful yet so much of our modern society honors and even encourages it.

Join us for this new Wednesday night series starting March 4, from 7-8:30pm with Resident Teacher Kerrin Perniciaro as we explore how anger is the source of so much of our suffering, and how we can start using the practice of meditation to reduce our reliance on anger, and eventually eradicate it from our minds altogether.

Everyone welcome!

Great turnout for our Vajrasattva Purification retreat this weekend! Perfect timing that both our TTP students and FP students have recently learned about the four opponent powers of purification and confession in their study of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s books Great Treasury of Merit and Universal Compassion, respectively. What a rare and precious opportunity to purify our negative karma since beginningless time. OM VAJRA SATTÖ SARWA SIDDHI HUM
