Soup Bar! ๐ฅฃ
Have you ever been to a soup bar? ๐ฒ
While traveling in Indonesia, I was elated (yes, a soup bar made me that happy) to discover a soup bar! ๐
It was similar to a Hot Pot where broth is brought to a boil and left simmering while ingredients are added to cook.
The ingredients are sliced into thin sections so that they will cook quickly and consistently in the simmering broth such as: leafy vegetables, mushrooms, bok choy, seaweed, glass noodles, napa cabbage, sliced potatoes, bean sprouts, egg dumplings and tofu.
The ingredients have to be easily cooked in boiling broth, so you have to take into consideration what's on your soup bar.
I just replicated most of what they served and have been sharing it with clients. ๐ฅฃ
It's a great way for kids to participate in making meals, a fun party idea and for simple, fast, meals for the week. ๐ฅ
Once the ingredients are prepped, you pull them out of the fridge, boil some broth or miso and Voila, you have soup!
I used two different kinds of noodles, (chickpea and egg), green cabbage, green onions, soft tofu, mushrooms, miso and Korean chili paste. It was fun, creative and delicious!
