🤍 Healthy Fats Are Essential and Powerful 🤍

Healthy fats are not the enemy… they’re a key part of a balanced, nourishing lifestyle.

Not all fats are created equal, and understanding the difference can completely shift how you fuel your body.

Unlike quick-burning carbs, fats digest more slowly, helping support steady energy, balanced blood sugar, and longer-lasting satiety.

They also bring richness and flavor that make meals more satisfying and sustainable.

Even more important certain fats actively support your health.

Omega-3 fatty acids are known for their anti-inflammatory benefits and may help support conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and gut-related inflammation.

Monounsaturated fats can support heart health by improving HDL cholesterol and helping manage triglycerides.

And yes… incorporating the right fats can absolutely support your weight goals when used intentionally.

Simple shift to start with:
Choose whole, unprocessed fat sources over highly refined oils and heavily processed products.

Some of my go-to healthy fats I use daily:

Today’s reminder: listen to your body and adjust. 🌸🤍🙋‍♀️

Some days I’m in the clinic seeing clients in person, and some days I work virtually.

Today was one of those days where I had to pause and check in with myself.
I wasn’t feeling my best… so I adjusted.

I moved my appointments online, supported my body, and still showed up for my clients in a way that felt aligned.

This is the same work I guide my patients through every day.

Not restriction… but awareness.

Not pushing through… but learning to listen.

Not perfection… but making supportive choices.

Today, one of my clients shared something that really stayed with me.

She’s understanding why she’s eating the way she is. This is huge in the process! She’s substituting instead of restricting.

She’s enjoying her meals, even desserts, without guilt.

She’s present with her food, her environment, her company… not just using food as the only way to feel good.

She’s seeing the bigger picture.

That’s when transformation starts.

Because food is not just calories.

It’s nutrients.
It’s minerals.
It’s information for your body.
It’s medicine.

Weekend sweet treat, made simple and clean

This homemade “ice cream” is one of my favorite go-to desserts when you want something refreshing, naturally sweet, and nourishing without the extra ingredients

All you need
2 cups frozen peaches (or any fruit you love)
1/2 banana
Stevia, honey or maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Blend until smooth and creamy
If needed, add a splash of plant based milk

Enjoy right away for a soft serve texture
Or freeze for 1 to 2 hours for a firmer scoop

Ever felt “butterflies” before something stressful?
Or your stomach tightening when you’re overwhelmed?

That’s not random. That’s your gut and brain talking.

Your body is wired through something called the gut-brain axis a direct communication line between your digestive system and your nervous system.

Take a look at your yogurt label for a second.

If the ingredient list is long… that’s your sign to pause.🤔

Yogurt should be simple. At its core, it only needs milk and live active cultures. But many options on the shelf today are filled with added sugar, thickeners like modified corn starch, preservatives like potassium sorbate, and vague ingredients like “natural flavors.”

These additions don’t support your gut health. They’re there to improve texture, extend shelf life, and enhance taste not your well being.

The goal is not perfection, it’s awareness.

When you choose products with fewer, recognizable ingredients, you’re giving your body something it actually knows how to process and use.

Next time you’re at the store, flip it around and read before you buy.

If I could sit down with myself from a few years ago, I wouldn’t give a long speech or a step-by-step plan…

I would simply say:

Have patience with the process. 🙋‍♀️❤️

Not everything needs to happen right now.

Not every setback means you’re off track. Not every slow season is failure.

Growth is happening even when it feels quiet.

Changes are building you even in the moments that feel uncertain or uncomfortable.

I’m someone who gets pushed out of my comfort zone by the unknown…
and yes, it can feel scary. That’s usually when anxiety kicks in.

In those moments, I’ve learned to slow down and come back to myself:

- Take a walk.
- Breathe deeply and give your mind space.
- Pray and reconnect with what grounds you.
- Talk to a friend
- Dance, listen to music
- Focus on the blessings

I’ve also learned how much our environment matters.

What we see, what we listen to, who we surround ourselves with… it all feeds our soul.

And the same goes for our food.

The way we nourish our body directly impacts how we feel, think, and show up.

Choosing whole, intentional foods isn’t just about health… it’s about supporting your energy, your mood, and your overall well-being.

Even in the hardest moments, choose to focus on the good.

The small wins. The lessons. The progress you can’t always see yet.

Because those moments?

They’re shaping you more than you realize. 🙏🌸

Trust it.
Stay consistent.
Keep showing up.
