Mid-face pick-me-up using dermal filler!

Here my lovely client complained of looking “tired”, “old”, and “not myself”. He had filler placed in the lateral cheek a year ago, but the lack of volume in his mid and anterior cheek led to increased tear trough and flat surface of his face. Strategically placing filler helps to lift the fallen fat pads and restore lost volume…his follow up text to me… “OMG! I do not know how to thank you! I look like me again…Again, thank you so much.“

Spending the weekend at an aesthetic conference at the Boca Resort! The Aesthetic Extender Symposium is an annual educational conference aimed to educate and train an audience of high level, aesthetic extenders by providing innovative education on the newest therapies, technologies and procedures in dermatology and aesthetic medicine.

Funny story, .np and I were best friends in high school! We went our separate ways in college and throughout our 20’s. But almost 14 years later we are now both nurse practitioners specializing in aesthetics and injecting. We picked back up just where we left off and I couldn’t be more thankful for this girl!! Love you Chris ❤️

Out of the office for the rest of the week! Today we arrived in Madeira, Portugal, an island 600 miles off the coast of Lisbon! We are headed back to Lisbon and then south to the Algarves later this week! I’ll be back in the office Monday July 24!! Hope everyone has a great week! Xox

Happy Friday Everyone:
From the ski slopes of Breckenridge, CO to the Emergency Room at Broward heath medical center for an emergent appendectomy due to a perforated appendix. I have had myself a week!

The last day of my vacation I was experiencing severe nausea and vomiting. Thinking it was a bad case of food poisoning and By the grace of God, I was able to make it back to Miami airport and went straight to Broward health where I was immediately seen by the greatest medical team around and was booked for the operating room within hours.

Thank you to all my patients for being so patient with me and being flexible to reschedule your appointments. I am trying to respond to all my DM’s and emails, however I am still in a lot of pain so bare with me! I am hoping to be back in the office by Monday!

Key lesson: listen to your body!

Spending my Saturday at the Miami Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Dermatology symposium with my momma bear and mentor, Dr. Halaas! ❤️

At this conference we covered:

♦️Surgical vs non surgical approach to patients: the moderator put a patient case on the big screen, then a panel of plastic surgeons and dermatologists discussed their approach in treating each patient. Some patients were filler only candidates, some patients were surgical only candidates. Sometimes the panelist wouldn’t agree with the panelist next to them in the treatment plan! This was very interesting to hear each specialties point of view because it gave a different viewpoint approach to the treatment plan of each patient!

♦️Cadaver Anatomy upper and mid face: ANATOMY ANATOMY ANATOMY is the key to a successful injector

♦️Cadaver Anatomy of lower face

♦️Mastering Tear Trough Filler: one of the most difficult areas to treat since your tissues move with each different direction you look at. It takes a ton of practice, education and experience to master this area. And I’m determined to do just that!!

Huge thanks to Jacob Sanchez and his incredible team for a rad advanced filler training. We got to work on cadavers, study didactics and learn/practice his advanced techniques on an insane amount of models… that I can’t wait to bring back to my practice!
