When I was 23, I was working over 100 hours a week. I thought it was normal.

At 3am, I was sitting in a metal cage in a basement.
White walls. Fluorescent lights.
Alone, building a crew roster for 83 people.
That was my “normal.”

100-hour weeks. No boundaries. No time.
Just adrenaline and autopilot.

At the time, I thought I was doing what it took to “make it.”
Hard work. Hustle. Grind.

But here’s the thing…

When you’re in it, you don’t question it.
You don’t see it as unhealthy, toxic, or unsustainable.
You just see it as truth. As the way.

And that’s the danger of perspective.

If you’ve only ever seen one version of success,
one version of “how it’s done,”
then of course you think it’s the right way.

But is it?

Is there another version of life you haven’t considered?
Could things be easier?
Smarter?
Lighter?

You don’t need to be an entrepreneur to question your beliefs.
You just need the courage to admit—
that maybe, just maybe…
you’ve been wrong.

I was.

And changing my perspective saved me.

Here are 3 short-term pivots you can explore to stay profitable without sacrificing your people:

1️⃣ Repackage Your Offer
Shift your focus to high-margin services or products already in your ecosystem. Can you upsell? Bundle? Create a “fast track” version?

2️⃣ Localize Your Supply Chain
Look closer to home. Many vendors are being overlooked because you’re chasing legacy pricing overseas. Speed and reliability now trump price.

3️⃣ Get Ruthless With Your Ops
Automate. Delegate. Eliminate.
If you’re still doing manual admin and chasing your own tail, you’re leaving money (and time) on the table.
