“I’m eating mindfully” but you’re still eating in a sympathetic state which is why you’re feeling bloated. 🤰 even though you’re eating “healthy”
Let’s talk about your nervous system state — because it’s not just what you’re eating, it’s how you’re eating.
Most of us are eating in a constant sympathetic (fight or flight) state — rushing between meetings, scrolling our phones, or eating while stressed. 📲 😩 💻
😫 Here’s what that does:
↓ Lowers stomach acid
↓ Slows digestion + nutrient absorption
↑ Leaves food sitting in the gut → hello bloating, gas, and inflammation 🤰
ESPECIALLY if you’re gassy, burping or just feel like you have sluggish gut motility. ⬇️
If your body doesn’t feel safe, it won’t digest.
And you don’t need to feel like a chicken 🐔 running around w ur head cut off - this could be as simple as shallow breathing, 😮💨 being GO GO GO or just not slowing down.

🌱Deep belly breaths before eating to activate parasympathetic (rest + digest) mode
No phones or distractions — just you + your plate
Mindful chewing — slowing down, actually tasting your food, noticing when you’re full
And no — mindfully eating isn’t just about “eating a salad” while checking emails.
It’s about actually BEING with your food. 🍲
