I can't even remember how this idea came to my mind but when I thought it, I knew I had to write about it. Language is SO important, it is the basis of how we communicate, how we learn, and even how we FEEL, truly. See what happens if you make a slight change from "should" to "want".

If you find yourself struggling to find that perfect gift for that person on your list, you might want to consider their love language! I usually find the shopping process super fun but I do run out of steam from alllllllllll the options out there nowadays (thanks to decision fatigue). If this is where you are, take a break, breathe, and then take a moment to think about what would make them feel loved and valued --> find something that would align with their top love languages! As we near the end of 2021 and the holidays are upon us, I am finding that I am stretching myself lately--both in the physical and psychological sense--to allow for breaks from responsibility ( #6) and not being "on" all the time helping ( #2), which is ironic as a therapist (I know...but hey). compassion, openness, mindfulness, and flexibility to others AND to YOURSELF, please. I needed this reminder (yes, therapists need reminders too! 🙃 ) this past week. Sometimes we get so caught up in all the ish that we operate from a place of criticism and rigidity that literally weighs us down and makes everything too hard and overwhelming. Feeling overwhelmed? Feeling stressed? Feeling lost on where to begin? We all have SO much going on in our minds these days, the lists never enddddd.... I find doing brain dumps as an EASY and EFFECTIVE way to unload the mental weight FAST. Try it.. take 5 minutes and a blank sheet of paper, and just write.

Write everything down that is floating in your mind. Yes, EVERYTHING!!! The need to wash clothes, the book you want to order, the call you need to make, the vacation you want to book, the weight you want to lose, even the things you don't want to do... Then notice the difference in the noise mental chatter.

Take it to the next step by exploring your priorities and how to actually tackle the list. Let me help you do just that!

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate!!

Happy Thanks for Fall Day to everyone else!!

I hope that today is filled with all that you need and all that you desire. I plan to spend the day eating, resting, walking the food off, then repeating this of course! 😂

Oh and for those Black Friday folks, remember that your time and kindness is WAY more important than whatever it is you’re buying. I promise. Hey, I’m not opposed to a great deal, just don’t be a jerk out there. (Can I say that? Oh well, I’m saying it!)

With all the hustle in prepping for tomorrow’s festivities, or the pit in the stomach feeling for no festivities, take time to connect with your body. Take ten minutes (or more) and be still with your experiences, be curious about them, and breathe through them. Do a body scan. Do some stretches, do whatever.

You may not be able to fix your circumstances, but don’t have to be victim to your circumstances, you really can change how these things affect you.

For those who know me personally, know that I am a creative soul. When I was a child, my greatest possessions were my watercolor paints and sketchpad. I wanted to be an artist. I even majored in Fine Arts for a couple of years.

But that passion fizzled. I realized that this specific passion was best served as my outlet to balance life, rather than it being my "daily work". Creating things, regardless of their medium, gives me mental clarity and peace to just be me.

Lately, I have been exploring sewing clothes. I have sewed couch slipcovers, pillow covers, and other household items, so I attempted a shirt the other week, and let's just say it was a success in the learning department. 😅

Good morning All! Feeling blessed to have these beautiful Carolina sunrises right outside my door.

Here's a sneak peek into my daily morning routine:
5:30 am - Wake up
6:00 am - Cycling Class
6:30 am - Coffee, Breakfast for the little
7:00 am - Daily chore
7:15 am - Shower and Get ready
7:45 am - Spend time with the little, Breakfast for me
8:30 am - Walk to my office and Start the workday!

Many of us think of money when we hear "currency", but this is only ONE type. In fact, there are more types, time is a big one. We have all heard about using our time wisely, after all we have the same 24 hours as the next person.

But, we sometimes overlook our energy. Time and energy kind of go hand and hand, which reminds me of the saying "I ain't got time for that!" So, friendly reminder that your energy is important and valuable. You should be using careful thought with your energy!

Can anyone else relate to my complete 🤯 moment here? Like, wow.... I sorta already knew this, right? RIGHT! 😐... but this notion has become more apparent to me in these past few weeks after I watched some mind-blowing content (stay tuned....I will be sharing these soon!) on how to silence the constant mind chatter so we can actually feel peace and find clarity!
