FUNKY PRE-CUT BAGGED SALAD TASTE AND SMELL GOT YOU DOWN???
I don't typically post about things like this, but....I finally found the answer. I know other people have been googling "why is this lettuce so grouse, it smells and tastes like formaldehyde or perfume and it can't be washed off." I have been one of those people😉 For the last few years I have sporadically been searching. Now it is not only store-bought bagged lettuce (shredded in particular) that tastes nasty but it has made it's way into restaurant and fast food. I can't enjoy what I use to enjoy😒Last night I found the answer. So for those of you who have also noticed, here is the best answer I have found. Enjoy!

Summer is usually not a good time to start therapy for most of us. From childhood through college we usually get the summer "off". It is conditioned into us to have a break from the hard/serious stuff during the summer break. Also we are busy with vacations, kids at home, parties, sports etc.

That being said.....consider when school starts back (😄or now) investing time in yourself. Don't put off any longer pursuing your spiritual, emotional and mental health. I have had the pleasure over the past 27+ years of meeting with women from all walks of life. I have been honored to know women who have been abused emotionally, physically, sexually, and spiritually. I have been honored to know women who have been incarcerated, had issues with addictions, and trauma. I have witnessed these women growing in their relationship with the Lord, gaining strength, confidence, dignity and a voice.

The first word I am meditating on and exploring this year is CURIOSITY. One of the best qualities to have is curiosity. Not the kind that killed the cat 🥸 but the kind that is interested in exploring people, nature, yourself and mostly the Lord. He moves in small but mighty ways and what a blessing it is to have the openness of curiosity to seek it. Who doesn't enjoy finding hidden treasure? When I or my clients are experiencing an emotion, my encouragement is to be curious, not condemning. What is the Lord trying to show you, why are you feeling this way? Ask the Lord to help you be curious about Him and all of His creation. It is amazing.

Facebook asks the question, "what's on your mind?" Hmmm, good question. So many things....the clients I am seeing this week, what am I going to cook for dinner, where is Abby, ugh it's hot and muggy today, is S ok, what am I going to post...The thoughts on my mind are endless and fleeting. I have a good Companion who gently leads me through the maze of each day. The days don't always go as I expect them to, but I trust they go as they should. Over each day and throughout the day I pray "Your kingdom come, Your will be done."

Sunday thoughts from me

Happy Monday! I am one of those strange people who (whom?) like Mondays. It is a return to order, a to-do-list, responsibilities outside of myself. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Friday thru Sunday where there are really no schedules, life is a bit slower and more relaxed. But Mondays are good for me because without them I could live like Friday thru Sunday all year long!!!

I pray as I am typing these words and am reminded of two of our favorite women of the Bible, Mary and Martha. Mary has chosen the better of two options at that moment; to sit in the presence of Jesus over the work that also has importance (preparing the meal and hostessing guests). When imagining this scenario beyond the moment I see that both are important. The hope is that I will seek Him and be sensative to His invitation as to which one is priority as I go about my daily life.
