Super proud of this kid right here! He spent seven months of 8th grade grinding through homebound school while undergoing chemotherapy. He will graduate 8th grade tomorrow, and we received the best news today!! Collin applied and was accepted to the Aviation and Aeronautics Academy for high school!!

I just wanted to thank all of you for all your love, kindness, prayers, and support!! I am in the process of writing as many thank you cards as I can. With some many things going on, it is going to take time, but I will get them out as soon as I can!!

I love this kid to pieces!! He is the strongest, most courageous person I know!! It is truly a blessing to see him gain his weight back and continue to become healthier every day!! One day at a time!! Home school has been a challenge, but his homebound teacher is a gift from above, and he is on track to graduate 8th grade on time (from home). Thank you for all of the love and continued support!!

Update: Collin is being admitted. Naturally, he has such strong negative feelings about the hospital. He is very frustrated and angry right now. He can use all of the positive vibes and prayers you all have!

These Welch kids really do be testing my winter driving skills… Texas, February 2021, snowmagedon, Chloe broke her wrist and I had to drive 3 towns over to find an ER with power.. Texas, February 1st, 2023, ice on errything errywhere, I drove Collin to Cook Children’s Emergency Room downtown tonight.. Thankfully, we made it safely.. Sucks that he is feeling so terrible.. He went downhill pretty quickly.. Hopefully, we have some answers soon.. I asked him why he couldn’t wait for warmer weather to get his blood transfusion fix, you know, because he’s a vampire.. Apparently, I am not funny and my jokes “need work” 🤣🤣 We’re over here trying to keep the spirits up!!

The kid fell asleep on my couch. I guess I'll allow it! He finds it more comfortable than his hospital bed. I don’t blame him. He is hanging in there. Knowing this is his last round of chemo has improved his mental health.
