We are in the MIDST of the holiday season. How are you doing?
Thanksgiving was more challenging this year for me. With grown children who are creating their own traditions, I cook on Thursday and we celebrate together on Friday. Growing up, it was difficult to enjoy the day with family while rushing to get to the “next” house!! I eliminated the hustle and bustle for the boys while giving myself time to prepare their favorites! This year, the 8th anniversary of my Daddy’s passing was on the day we celebrate! Of course I made an apple pie and ate a piece (or 5) in rememberance of him, I cried and it was ok.
Life moves quickly; people enter our lives, some leave sooner than we’d like, while others don’t leave soon enough.🤷🏼♀️
For me, i have to have my community, my core people who see me at my worst and remind me to do my best.
How are you planning to navigate Christmas?
Alone is hard!
Some things to consider:
Reach out to your family/community/church
Serving less fortunate
Celebrate how far you’ve come
Volunteer at a local charity
Our team at MCW and ASIC Recovery Services sre here to support in any way we can. The first step is to reach out and plan to do ONE thing different!
Prayers for a peaceful holiday filled with blessings for every person and family who reads this.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
