KAA 2022 Conference - Registration Now Open!
Join us August 18th and 19th

Join colleagues from across the Commonwealth as the Kentucky Academy of Audiology returns to Lexington, KY for the 2022 Annual Meeting at the Hilton Lexington Downtown. After an exciting year that include; KAA successfully securing the removal of the requirement for audiologists to hold a separate dispensing license with the passage of House Bill 95, and expanding Medicaid access to Audiology for adults. We look forward to seeing everyone in-person for our annual meeting. Conference organizers will apply for .15 CEUs from AAA for this activity.

Audiology Single Licensure Goes Into Effect July 14th
Licensed Audiologists may now dispense hearing instruments under single licensure

Under the Kentucky Constitution any laws passed by the General Assembly, that do not include an emergency clause or other provisions, go into effect 90 days after the legislature adjourns for the year. Thus the effective date for House Bill 95 is July 14th 2022. Effective now, in Kentucky an audiologist licensed pursuant to KRS 334A may engage in the sale and fitting of hearing instruments with a single license.

Please note updated statutes regarding the sale and fitting of hearing instruments still apply regarding the paperwork, complaints, and right to cancel. Audiologists are encouraged to review the law in its entirety to insure compliance as certain statutory references have changed.
