Congratulations to Dr. Lauren Mansall ('11) for being named a 2024 College of Health and Human Services Distinguished Finalist!

Dr. Lauren Mansell, a GovState Doctor of Physical Therapy alumna, is certified in lymphedema therapy, pelvic rehabilitation, and dry needling. A former counselor for at-risk youth, she has advocated for over 130 survivors of sexual violence. As an equestrian, she integrated hippotherapy into her practice and pioneered dry needling for horses in Chicagoland. Lauren teaches pelvic rehabilitation as adjunct faculty at GovState and runs Chez Therese Specialty Physical Therapy, focusing on pelvic health, lymphedema, and oncology care. She’s currently pursuing a Dual Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.

Dr. Lauren Mansall is among four distinguished finalists within the College of Health and Human Services category and is being inducted into the Distinguished Class of 2024. The category leader is set to be announced at the Distinguished Alumni Reception on November 2, 2024 at Governors State University.

We love when good old Facebook asks, what's on your mind. A whole lot as a matter of fact.

We have been getting text messages and phone calls asking us about some quick fixes and if they all what they are cracked up to be. In short, NO!

Without getting overly technical think of this. If one scoop of ice cream is good, is 10,000 scoops at once better? If lifting a 10 pound weight is good, can you then lift 1,000's more...at once?!?!

We have heard the old wives tale about kegals and how and when to do them. No not while peeing, no not 100's a day. If you have a situation where there is overtone happening, this is going to exponentially, make your problem so much worse.
