This also means that humans have sought out cannabis well before the creation of beer, which is believed to be around 7-10,000 years ago. Does that mean we have a deeper connection to cannabis? I think so, as we have sought its psychoactive properties for use in medicine, spirituality, and more!

Beta-Caryophyllene is also what is considered a Sequiterpene, an organic chemical that, while similar to terpenes on the surface, are far more complex in structure, with three base units instead of one!

There's truth to the saying, "this ain't your father's w**d!"
According to the Natural Center for Natural Projects Research (NCNPR), the cannabis we find on dispensary shelves is 57-60% more potent than samples confiscated in the 70's. In fact, much of the w**d from back in the day had to be smuggled in (usually from Columbia or the far East) which means that it took a longer time to get it from the farms where it was produced, to American consumers. Longer transport time= less freshness. To add insult to injury, when the cannabis finally got into our parent's pipes, a lot of it was leaves, stems and other undesirable pieces of the plant, pieces that, while high in cannabinoid content, lacked in the THC department. Fast forward to the 1980's, and we have the development of hydroponics, which paved the way for the boom in home growing! Homegrown= fresh buds! Because of new advancements in the growing process, THC potency spiked AGAIN in the 2000's, and the demand for imported brick w**d faded away. Even now, the cannabis industry is moving into an increasingly high-tech age, and the question remains, how high can we really get? 🧐
Thanks for learning 🌿🧠

Sure, you may know how to get high, but, do you how you get high? πŸ€”
When you consume THC, it doesn't just go straight to your brain and stop there, it's much more complex than that! Let's talk about the Endocannabinoid System (we'll call it the ECS.) Developed while we are still growing inside of our mother's womb, the ECS is the regulator of almost all physiological and neurotransmitter activity in our bodies. When you smoke cannabis, the phytocannabinoid, THC, interacts on a cellular level with special receptors in the ECS known as the CB1 and CB2 receptors. These receptors can be found in almost every area of the central nervous system, and modulate everything from your mood, to your peripheral activity. With it's complex actions in our immune system, nervous system, and virtually all organs, the ECS acts like a bridge between our body and mind. By understanding it, we can get a glimpse of an intricate mechanism that connects brain activity and physical health. πŸ‘πŸ§ πŸŒΏ

Probably one of the most commonly debated over questions, is the question of cannabis overdose. How much is too much? If you asked Snoop, he'd tell you he smokes an ounce per day! But the subject of cannabis overdose goes much deeper than perceived numerical limits, or weights. Most people will experience it differently, in ways that are uniquely structured around their own tolerance levels. It's true that no one has ever died from too much cannabis, but, that doesn't mean that they didn't experience some kind of adverse effects. The most talked about type of overdose is known as cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome. While still considered to be uncommon- likely due to it going unreported- CHS can be recognized by symptoms such as: continuous nausea, vomiting, disorientation, belly discomfort, and increased dehydration levels. I experienced several of these symptoms myself after ingesting a 300mg edible once (my tolerance cut off is around 25mg.) This may come as a surprise, but, I didn't die ☠
CHS can usually be treated with pain medicine, frequent hot showers, lots of water, and placing the affected person in a more comfortable environment. It sucks, take it from me. And while you shouldn't tread on this lightly, it is something that can be overcome. So, if you find yourself or a friend facing this type of situation, just remember to stay as calm as possible, and for new users, I always suggest to start low and slow. Give yourself time to get adjusted to the plant, and you'll develop a better understanding and connection with it. πŸŒΏπŸ’š

Properly known as: The Club Des Hasischins πŸŽ“

Gautier, another author that belonged to the club, wrote, "One December evening, obeying a mysterious summons, drafted in enigmatic terms understood by affiliates but unintelligible for others, I arrived in a distant quarter, a sort of oasis of solitude in the middle of Paris that the river, surrounding it with its two arms, seems to defend against the encroachments of civilization. It was in an old house on the island of Saint-Louis, the Hotel Pimodan, built by Lauzun, that the bizarre club of which I was a member."πŸ’¨

He is primarily credited with the discovery of CBD, however, was also the first scientist to specifically identify THC. This was during military experiments involving an attempt at creating a truth serum. 😬
THC wasn't officially isolated as a compound until 1964, in Israel.

Was Jesus 420 friendly?
Editor of High Times Magazine and cannabis historian, David Bienenstock, thinks so, and he isn't the only one! A handful of historical experts claim that the recipe for Jesus' holy anointing oil included cannabis, and they're pointing to amcient scripture as evidence! In Exodus 30:22-25, a mysterious herb called "q'aneh-bosm" is mentioned. Entomologist, Sula Benet, explained that the root of the word "q'an" translates to "h**p" and "bosom" translates to "aromatic". Aromatic H**p sounds a lot like cannabis, if you ask me!!

We can all agree that this year has been an insane ride so far. March 2020 is undoubtedly going to be seared into the memories of people around the world, for more reasons than one-but of course- the main culprit being COVID-19. March will also forever be cemented in cannabis history, as the time wh...
