Holiday Light Fest

Holiday Light Fest Seasonal holiday yard display. Halloween and Christmas. Never in our wildest dreams did either of us anticipate how popular the light fest' would become.

Created in 1994 my mom (Rochelle Gardner) and I have created a holiday light fest for the Fredericksburg VA area for both Halloween and Christmas. We decided to do this very simply because there was another house on our street doing something very similar and our mail box was taken out by passer by's on a regular basis. Over the years Rochelle Gardner "aka mom" was blessed with many thank you's, smiling faces, bewilderment, and her favorite on Halloween....screams. In 2017, we lost mom to cancer, I personally was willing to let the light fest go because I was struggling with the loss of my mother. However, my husband encouraged me to continue mom and I's passion of creation and in 2017 for Halloween I put up the creation of my moms last 15+ year passion solo. Emotions are running high this 2017 season, to say the least, but its oddly therapeutic and somehow I can't help but think shes with me as I place the decorations in the yard, both laughing at me and smiling. No longer will this event take place at its creation address 130 Cranes Corner, but it will take place at 806 Spring Valley Dr 22405. There are many changes as you can imagine that would occur with a change in venue. Possibly one of the biggest changes is there is no drive thru, 806 Spring Valley Dr is on a two way street that divides Forbes st and route 1. This should help ease some traffic. We hope to see some old familiar faces as well as newcomers!!
