Community has always been important to Patrick Klein, a lifelong Fredericksburg resident. He found another instance after falling and suffering a puncture wound and broken bone in his left foot. After a referral to the Wound Care Clinic at Methodist Hospital Hill Country and a long journey of healing, Patrick is thankful for the care and attention given to him by Jetta Eckhardt, a physical therapist at the clinic.

“She’s top notch,” he says. “She knows what she’s doing. The care I’ve received at Methodist Hospital Hill Country’s wound care clinic has made all the difference.”

Did you know that one in four Americans have had met with a chaplain — and that 40 percent of those interactions take place in hospitals?

At Methodist Healthcare System, we believe healing involves more than medicine — it touches the heart, mind, and spirit.

Our chaplains serve as compassionate companions for patients, families, and staff, walking beside them in moments of uncertainty, grief, and hope. Whether offering prayer, a quiet presence, or a listening ear, chaplains help bring peace into life’s hardest days.

They guide patients through seasons of challenge, support families in times of waiting and loss, and remind our caregivers that their work is more than a profession — it’s a calling that reflects compassion, mercy, and God’s love expressed through human hands.

As we celebrate Pastoral Care Week, we give thanks for the chaplains who embody our mission of “Serving Humanity to Honor God” each and every day.

During Medical Assistants Recognition Week, Methodist Healthcare System celebrates the critical role medical assistants (MAs) play in providing comprehensive patient care.

Utilizing knowledge in both clinical and administrative settings, MAs work alongside physicians, advanced practice providers and nurses to care for patients by taking patient histories and vital signs, preparing exam and procedure rooms, administering medications, and maintaining supplies and equipment for treatments.

Thank you to the MAs across Methodist Healthcare for showing up for the patients and communities we serve.
