So this year, I'm gonna do something different. At the end of each month I'm gonna give my totals for reading with my favorite book of the month. Then at the end of the year, I'll give all of my favorites again in one post. This way my favorite books get triple recognition.

So here are my totals for January.

12 books read

My favorites included my son's book, of course, The Iron Hunting Chalice by JM Shafer

And also The Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson.

Aiming for 120 books this year.

And by the way to those who saw my post about my TBR jar.... It's working great. So much less stress in choosing my next book.

Another fun day for Sloan adventures!

We took a quick ride into Phoenix to a bookstore that another nurse told us to check out. Gorgeous weather for a ride and I found some great finds at the bookstore!

There is literally something magical when you can smell the old books when you open the door! ❤️📚

I was so excited to find an original screenplay from the Wizard of Oz which was also signed by one of the munchkins "Tiny Doll". I also found a book printed in 1907 which was almost like new (I could tell it was old by the smell. Lol) Finally I found a book on monsters by Vincent Price. It's pretty cool!

So honored to have moved to the semi-finals with my pre-K children's book!

This book was JM Shafer’s first published book, if I’m correct 👍. It is 44 pages long and has many punchy chapters that make you want to carry on reading.
Two young lads decide to go camping early November in Ohio, having the permission of the property owner, they pitched their tents in and around the boundaries of the Morgan Creek Wildlife Preserve, next to an abandoned farmhouse tucked away in the woods. Unforeseen events unfold, leaving one of the young men to up-sticks and leave, or so he thought. I can’t tell you what occurs, you’ll have to read it for yourselves 🤓
This was an amazing start to a young man’s writing career and I wish him all the best in his future endeavours. Kim Sloan, author you should be proud of your son.
