Here's my update for March reads!

I read 7 books for the month which brings me to 30 for the year! Actually all of the books were on audible as we were traveling across the country and moving back into our already furnished home. Lol

My top 3 favorites were:

Energy Follows Thought - Willie Nelson
Sweet Insanity - Danielle Fear - Author

Honorable mention was:

When writing a middle school level chapter book, is it necessary to put a back story of the family dynamic?

Example.... My book starts with a fight between the main character and her adoptive mom. The next chapter explains the rough childhood this girl grew up in prior to being adopted by this "mom". Then the book continues with the main storyline.

I've been debating back and forth. I feel the backstory is important to know where the little girl's head is with the adventures that she is going on. However, I don't want the backstory to be too heavy for middle school readers.
