🎓 Education & Certifications: Bachelor of Science from The College of New Jersey, N.A.S.M C.P.T., American Heart Association CPR/AED Certification

💪 Specialties: Helping others achieve optimal fitness and wellness by incorporating consistent exercise and balanced nutrition for weight loss.

⭐ Fun Fact: Empowered by my own 100+ lb weight loss, I discovered a passion for fitness and wellness that led me to complete the iconic New York City Marathon twice in my 50s. Additionally, I have accomplished several half-marathons and triathlons.

💬 Why did you go into Personal Training? My purpose is to encourage others to reach their full potential and live their best lives. I am driven by the desire to inspire, motivate, and guide individuals along their personal journey towards success.

Congratulations to Melanie, our Member of the Month! 🌻 Read on to learn her story:

“I met Laura Roman over 6 years ago. I was 55 years old, and was at a turning point in my life. I had gone through several years of incredible stress and had gained a lot of weight. I had pain in my joints and very little energy. I didn't recognize the person looking back at me in the mirror.

I joined Centrastate gym in hopes of regaining my health and self-esteem. Laura greeted me and took a health assessment, and then discussed recommendations for helping me get physically stronger. At first, I resisted a lot of what she was trying to accomplish. We laugh about it now. She definitely practiced a tough love approach.

Over time, I marveled at how much stronger I had become. Laura is always introducing new exercises to keep me challenged. I have totally transformed and am in great physical shape. I have regained my energy and have no pain in my body.

Laura's knowledge is very impressive. She always stresses proper form and safety. She has dedicated her entire career to fitness and well-being. If you are considering a Personal Trainer, you cannot get better than Laura Roman. She will meet you where you are in your journey and help you achieve your goal.” - Melanie

🎓 Education & Certifications: Balanced Body Reformer Instructor (Levels 1 & 2) and AFAA Group Fitness Instructor, POP Pilates & POP Remix Certified Instructor, SHiNE Dance Fitness & SHiNE Light Certified Instructor, American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certification, and an Associate of Arts in Fashion Design from Brooks College in Long Beach, CA.

💪 Specialties: Pilates Reformer, Pop Pilates, Pop Remix, SHiNE Dance, and a former Jazzercise Dance Fitness Instructor

🎶 Fun Fact: Owned and operated a successful Jazzercise Dance Fitness franchise for 19 years, serving the Jackson and Howell, NJ communities.

💬 Why did you go into Pilates Instruction? "I chose to become a Pilates instructor because I truly believe movement is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves. Pilates is more than just a workout. It’s a powerful way to build strength, improve mobility, increase flexibility, and move through life with greater ease and confidence. For me, teaching Pilates is about helping others grow, feel capable, and discover what their bodies can do. It’s incredibly rewarding to support clients as they improve their quality of life through mindful, intentional movement. It’s an honor to be part of that journey."
