It’s time for a very long overdue update! A good update too!
I had a PET scans a few weeks ago and to my disbelief the lesions on my liver and sternum are gone!!! I’m beyond happy to share this news!

What does this mean? It means that those 3 little pills that I take everyday are killing some of this cancer!!! It means it’s working! I didn’t post right away, because even after these few weeks it’s still hard for me to believe. After such a world shattering few months to hear the medicine is working so quickly was almost unbelievable! Like is this real? Is it true? Should they check again?
So for now we continue on this path of treatment and truly pray and hope it keeps getting better and killing this cancer!!! My goal is no evidence of disease!

The thing with cancer is they can tell you what type of cancer you have and how to treat it, but there are truly so many unknowns. That is the scariest part of cancer, I don’t know what is next! So for now I anxiously wait until my next scan to hopefully not see much! I have no idea how much longer it may take to shrink and kill the cancer in my breast, but all I can hope for is that it just keeps working!

I will continue to stay positive! I will continue to fight this cancer!
My days are good and filled with work, family, and friends! I will always find joy in my days!

I can’t thank everyone enough for donating to my medical fund for cancer bills/expenses!
I am so appreciative of all of you and any amount will help us!
You never plan to have metastatic cancer and years of the medical bills that will follow, so this fund will definitely ease some of the immediate financial burden.

To give you an idea of the bills/ expenses that have accrued and will….
The past 3 months have consisted of 2 times weekly appointments in either Boston or Scarborough
I have had weekly blood draws
Scans I have had- ultrasounds, mammograms, MRIs, PET Scan
Treatments have been lupron shots and an infusion for my bones
And most recently I had to have my ovaries removed in order to start hormone therapy treatment
I have thankfully been moved to every 2 week appointments with blood work
PET Scans will be every 3 months
Infusions for bones will be every 3 months (because of risk of osteoporosis and bone breaks)
Daily I take 2 medications for hormone therapy treatment
And next step is traveling to New York at Sloan and Kettering to see if they will offer me more aggressive treatment!
