My new favorite smoothie! One frozen banana (freeze in pieces), 3/4 cup coconut water (not coconut milk) 1/4 cup water, 1/2 cup ice, 10 raw almonds, 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract, 1 heaping scoop of the new Favao chocolate (YUM) protein. Put everything but the protein in the blender and mix till smooth. Add the protein and blend a few seconds only, just enough to mix it in. Drink and Savor the wonder!!!

Terri Barber,this was the veggie program I was telling you about this week....the one in Santa Rosa. The McDougall Diet is based on the guidelines of Dr. John McDougall, MD who is an American physician who teaches his patients that degenerative diseases can be reversed and prevented with a low fat, plant-based whole foods diet. His wife Mary is the chef in the family and creates an array of nutritious oil-free plant based dishes and has written several cookbooks. The staple foods for The McDougall Diet/Program are starch based foods like potatoes, rice, and beans, supplemented with green and yellow vegetables, leafy greens and fruit. Animal based foods, processed foods and vegetable oils are not part of the diet or recommended.

Love this salad dressing: In the blender 3 or 4 organic raw carrots, fill up to cover with filtered tap water, throw in two tablespoons of miso, some jalapeno, fresh rosemary, turmeric, black pepper and blend blend away.
Serve over a really creative salad of greens, seeds, nuts, onions, grated beets, oranges, etc. It's such a lovely lovely dressing! You will be licking the jar or drinking the left overs as soup!
