ANOTHER YEAR AROUND THE SUN: Literally nothing went right today. Internet crashed, target was sold out, plans canceled, pouring rain while shopping and some hopeful texts that weren’t received. I had no idea 18 months ago that I’d be sitting in Texas getting ready to embark on a journey I’ve thought about most of my 57 years. It’s been an interesting experience this far and even tho I know almost no one I’m still happy to be here.

Happy 1st Mother’s Day to this gorgeous creature! I am so proud to know what an amazing mother you are. You parent Elijah in the best way possible and you have been and always will be the best daughter ride-or-die friend I have ever known. Elijah is so incredibly amazing and you and Justin are just such gifts to me. I love you and hope you have an amazing 1st Mother’s Day ❤️❤️❤️

THE LIGHT OF LIFE: someone told me once that “not everybody has the same heart and intentions as you”… I have quickly learned that this is very true. I have always prided myself and tried to be a good kind and loving person. I always tried to be genuine and forthright with everyone in my life. Always there as a friend or companion. Sadly, not everyone is the same. I now know that doing good things for people is not always reciprocated nor appreciated. Just because you treat someone with kindness and respect doesn’t mean they’re going to turn around and do the same for you. It’s been a hard lesson but it’s taught me a lot about people and the failure of true intention.

FOR GOD AND COUNTRY: I am not the most religious person but having a phone conversation today I realized that my time with in the USAF was both meaningful and educational. Working on and around some of the most sophisticated aircraft on the planet are memories to behold. I truly miss the military in many ways and my service did mean something
