The first days after birth can be a lot on your body, especially your breasts. Sore ni***es and engorgement are common, but there are gentle ways to make it easier.
✨ For sore ni***es: Skip the bra for at least the first week, let your ni***es air out, and make sure your baby is properly positioned and latched. A tongue or lip tie can also affect feeding. Check with a professional if something feels off.
✨ For engorgement: Frequent feeds are your best friend. Warm showers and gentle massage can ease discomfort, and cold cabbage leaves applied to the breast can prevent clogged ducts. Avoid pumping unless absolutely necessary, catching overflow for later use is fine, but don’t stimulate your breasts too much at this stage.
Remember: these early weeks are about comfort, care, and learning your baby’s cues. Trust your body, lean on support, and know that every feed is a step in building a strong, healthy start for both you and your little one. You’re doing an incredible job!
