This is to notify you of the permanent closing of River City Allergy & Medical, as I am retiring. Thank you for entrusting us with your medical care for the past 49 years. Upon proper authorization, you may have a copy of your medical records or have a copy sent to the physician of your choice. Research examines misuse of antibiotics among US seniors

A poll conducted by the University of Michigan found that although 89% of more than 2,250 US seniors aged 50 to 80 know that overusing antibiotics may mean the drugs may not work in the future, they still overuse them. Researchers also found that 1 in 8 seniors had leftover antibiotics, with 1 in 5 reported taking such drugs without consulting their doctors, and 2 in 5 expected to receive antibiotic prescriptions for viral conditions, which don't respond to these drugs.
