WARNING!

Another example of “don’t believe everything you read on internet.” There is a new trend afoot: Fake Review Extortion!

Physicians and anytujng reviewable online can get hit. My colleague received five (!!!) 1-star reviews within minutes. In the dead if the night. The final review says to send a WhatsApp to the number in their profile pic so that they can remove the reviews (presumably in exchange for money). The phone number is a +92 country code - Pakistan.

Here is an example of a similar scam that happened with restaurants:

I keep repeating Never Forget, but the world sides with Holocaust inversion
I keep praying Never Again, but the world endorses the multitude of nakbahs, insurgences, intifadas, beatings, murders, rapes of Jews.

Today is Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Jews and Israelis are fighting for survival, constant attacks, andare STILL held HOSTAGE (500+ days after they were taken on 10/6/23).

I wish WSJ interviewed me or any number of dermatologists that take our profession seriously.

Other specialties envy our hours? Anyone running own business can make their hours flexible. Heck, I’ve been joking about midnight Mohs since 2008! But I work 8 am and until I am done, which can be 12 or 13 hrs.

Truth is we are in the office, when our patients need us. I am on call 24/7/365 while practicing as a solo dermatologist in private practice.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t make for flashy headlines or hair raising narrative. Shame on Wall Street Journal for shoddy “journalism”.

Americans’ newfound obsession with skin care has medical students flocking to this specialty.

After so many years, surviving today is still hard. I still remember all too clearly where I was when each tower fell, the silence of the Bellevue hospital, the first responders in ER fighting with the personnel to be released back to the inferno. The silence of the city that never sleeps and empty streets that were not ever so empty before. Every day after was entering and leaving the hospital papered in posters searching for loved ones. Walking through the streets with refrigerated remains waiting for their turn with the medical examiner. This is still hard. It is harder still with college campuses allowing the rising support for the terrorists that brought us 9/11. The “protests” that celebrate the burning of our flag and “Death to America.” The tragedy wasn’t that far in the past for us to forget who was behind it. I mourn for the lives lost and pray for peace.
