We love celebrating our residents through our WOW Moment program, and this month we had the joy of surprising Mrs. Armor with a very special outing. She enjoyed a long-awaited visit to the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, followed by a wonderful lunch with her family at Virtue Feed & Grain .

Art has always been a central part of Mrs. Armor’s life. A talented artist for many years, she even sold her work from her own stall in a Rappahannock art market similar to the Torpedo Factory. Although she had dreamed of visiting the Torpedo Factory for quite some time, she had never had the chance—until now.

As an artist, the opportunity to engage with fellow creatives, explore working studios, and discover new techniques and mediums made this experience truly meaningful.

Thank you, Mrs. Armor, for being such a cherished member of our community and for the beauty you continue to bring to the world through your art! 🎨 🌟 💓

Our Inspiritás-memory care residents also put their crafting skills to the test while preparing for winter by making festive holiday door decorations. 🍷✨ Nothing like a little art, laughter, and seasonal spirit to kick off the holidays!

Celebrating Atefa as October's Team Member of the Month!🌟 Atefa recently received a glowing letter of appreciation from a family member here at The Wellington:

"Caregivers are often overlooked in the busy day of the care community; but I believe they are the "glue" that holds the community together. If residents feel cared for, they will feel safe and content. In line with this thinking, I wish to acknowledge my gratitude and admiration for the exceptional care Atefa has provided my mother. Atefa is kind, cheerful, and patient, qualities that are so valuable when dealing with dementia patients/residents. Atefa is a detail-oriented problem solver which gives me the confidence that all is well when she is with my mother. Atefa not only looks out for the well-being of all the residents at The Wellington, she looks out for her fellow employees. She can always be counted on to help those in need with a cheerful and caring attitude. One feels safe when Atefa is around, a priceless quality!
